African Group Lubricants Goes Live with Translution Software
African Group Lubricants, one of the largest marketers and distributors of lubricants and services in Southern African, has successfully implemented TransLution Software. The primary objective of this implementation was to enhance overall stock control and accuracy across AG Lubricant’s warehouses and production facility. The project focused on improving key processes such as put away, picking, manufacturing and stock take.
With the introduction of bins and lots into SYSPRO, AG Lubricants required a robust scanning system that could manage the complex movement of inventory. TransLution was integrated in three distinct phases, each focusing on a specific area of their facility.
Phase 1: Finished Goods Warehouse
TransLution was first implemented in the finished goods warehouse. This phase addressed several key processes, including:
- Receiving and putting away stock
- Picking, checking, and loading of sales orders
- Stock take and cycle counting
Phase 2: Raw Material Warehouse
The second phase covered the raw material warehouse, implementing systems for:
- Receiving and putting away stock
- Job picking and goods in transit
- Stock take and cycle counting
Phase 3: Production
The final phase focused on production operations, introducing solutions for:
- Job issues and job receipts with inspection
- Unplanned issues and rework
- Pallet building
Each phase ensured that critical inventory functions were managed efficiently, keeping SYSPRO
updated in real-time.
AG Lubricants have already gained better visibility into their overall stock picture and noticed a
significant increase in stock control and accuracy when picking. Translution was able to work
with AG Lubricants on a unique challenge they faced in moving stock from one SYSPRO
company to another, and they are now able to do this with a simple pick: and GRN process in
TransLution.
TransLution continues to work with AG Lubricants to update and add on to the system when
needed, currently in the pipeline are the addition of FEFO control in picking and shelf-Life
validation on receipt of stock.
