MPact, a leading supplier of plastic containers in Southern Africa, has successfully implemented TransLution Software to integrate with their innovative dark warehouse operations. A dark warehouse, also known as a lights-out warehouse, is a fully automated storage facility that operates without human intervention, utilizing advanced robotics and software systems to manage inventory and order fulfillment.

The primary objective of this implementation was to create a seamless integration between MPact’s various systems. TransLution now handles all pallet creation and management outside of the dark warehouse while maintaining constant communication with the dark warehouse’s stock management system. This communication, facilitated through API calls, ensures that the dark warehouse is updated with all inbound and outbound stock requirements.

TransLution manages inbound logistics by informing the dark warehouse when it needs to take possession of a pallet and processing responses such as acceptance or rejection of pallets. For outbound operations, TransLution communicates with the dark warehouse when stock is required for sales orders. As the automated system picks the pallets, TransLution is then used to scan these pallets and perform warehouse transfers out of the dark warehouse. Simultaneously, TransLution keeps SYSPRO, MPact’s ERP system, updated in real-time. This multi-faceted integration ensures efficient inventory management and streamlined order processing across the entire operation.

The successful integration of TransLution with MPact’s dark warehouse showcases the software’s advanced capabilities. TransLution’s new external processing functionality enables seamless API communication, offering greater flexibility with robust interfacing mechanisms.
