Adient, a global leader in automotive seating, has successfully gone live with TransLution at their Port Elizabeth plant. With approximately 75,000 employees operating in 208 manufacturing/assembly plants in 33 countries worldwide, Adient produce and deliver automotive seating for all vehicle classes and all major OEMs.

By choosing TransLution, Adient aimed to boost accuracy and efficiency in their day-to-day operations. From purchase order and job receipts to warehouse stock management and transfers, TransLution was seamlessly integrated into their workflow. Pallet management is a vital part of Adient’s processes, so it was important that they chose a system that could assist them in tracking and managing pallet stock.

A two-stage process is used to receive purchase orders into the system. Pallets are received and labelled with TransLution. Receipts are then reviewed on a TransLution grid before being posted to SYSPRO to create the GRN. Pallets are then put away into a bin in the warehouse. Adient also manages their job receipts on 8 production lines with TransLution. Pallet labels are printed and the job receipt is posted to SYSPRO as pallets are packed off the production line.

TransLution is then used to track and manage pallets through various warehouse processes – warehouse and bin transfers, goods in transit, building and breaking of pallets and cycle counts.
