Jaycor selected TransLution™ Software to help them fulfil their goal of improving their inventory control processes by implementing a scanning solution within the Jaycor International (Sandton) warehouse.

The project will be implemented in multiple phases and phase one has now gone live. This phase included P.O. receiving, putaway, bin transfers, stock adjustments, and stock take. The rollout began with implementing a labelling process to allow all bins and items to be barcoded. This labelling process was also handled within TransLution™.

Jaycor receives some serialized items and the scanner-based P.O. receiving process allows users to capture serial numbers for serialized items. After the scanning is complete, users view the scanned data on a grid and post the Goods Received Notices to Syspro once they have confirmed that the data is correct. Putaway is managed by TransLution™ which suggests a bin location for each item that is scanned.

TransLution™ is also used to manage a standard bin-transfer process – moving items between bins in SYSPRO. The stock adjustment process will be handled as phase two of the project.

Users scan to select which items to adjust and select a reason code for the adjustment. Before the adjustment is posted to SYSPRO, however, it is reviewed on a grid. At this point, the adjusted quantity can be modified if required.

A scanner-based stock take process was also implemented in conjunction with the SYSPRO stock take functionality.

Phase two is planned to include sales order and SCT picking, as well as picking for jobs.
