Jonsson Workwear Northfields Implements TransLution™ Software for Management of Fabric and Trims
Jonsson Workwear is a leading manufacturer of workwear for the South African market. After successfully implementing TransLution™ Software at the manufacturing site in Lesotho, Jonsson has now extended the use of TransLution™ to its Northfields site near Durban. The Northfields site deals with both Fabric and Trims.
TransLution™ is first used at receiving of trims, providing various functions for labelling received trims if required, scanning received stock into the warehouse, and finally for posting the receipt to SYSPRO and creating a GRN. This final step in the process allows the user to view what was scanned before doing the post to SYSPRO. This allows for a line to be cancelled if something was scanned incorrectly. The receiving process has been designed to allow a 10% over-receipt of items into stock.
TransLution™ is also used for picking stock, either for a sales order to a sub-contractor, or for a supply chain transfer to a different site (e.g. Lesotho or Swaziland). Stock is picked by scanning it into a crate or stillage. Picking of both trims and fabric is supported. If the sales order is changed before it has been dispatched and more stock has been added to the order, there is also function which allows a stock addition to be done. The same applies in reverse – if a sales order quantity is reduced before is has been shipped, there is a function to do a return from pick.
After picking, a dispatch function allows users to create loads and load a Sales Order or SCT. The user can see a list of all the crates on a load using the available grid, and using this form, the user can add information such as the driver name and truck registration before posting the dispatch. This post updates SYSPRO and either creates an invoice (for a picked sales order) or puts stock in transit (for a supply chain transfer). After the dispatch, a detailed load sheet is printed.
In addition, there is also a full stock take process. The process of taking stock for fabric is different to that for trims since fabric includes serial numbers while trims are counted in items with no serialisation. TransLution™ provides a process for counting both fabric and trims.
