INTOCAST Ibérica uses TransLution™ Software to label and scan finished goods
INTOCAST is a major supplier of consumables for iron and steelmaking to the German and European steel industry. This global organization has a network of 12 German and 17 foreign sites.
INTOCAST Ibérica in Spain is the third INTOCAST site in Europe and the fourth overall to use TransLution™ Software in their production scanning.
The Spanish site uses TransLution™ to label and scan finished goods out of production. When a finished item is scanned, TransLution™ uses the Bill of Materials to find all the raw materials required to make this product. The software then performs a series of raw material issues and labour posts as per the bill of materials, effectively replicating a Kit Issue using the SYSPRO Business objects rather than requiring a user to do this from the SYSPRO frontend.
Once successfully posted TransLution™ then posts a Job Receipt to add the finished goods item to stock.
Everything at INTOCAST Ibérica is palletized and TransLution™ prints all of the pallet labels detailing the items on the pallet.
TransLution™ is then used during the Picking and Dispatch process – users pick pallets against a Sales Order and the system generates a Dispatch Note.
Finally, all of the information about the stock on each pallet is stored in TransLution™ so users are only required to scan each pallet during stock take.
An important requirement by INTOCAST Ibérica was the ability to generate all documentation required by EU standards. TransLution™ was therefore configured to generate these documents with the required text in multiple languages as per EU regulations.
