Finlar Fine Foods Implements TransLution Software to Improve its Receiving and Quality Control Processes
Finlar Fine Foods supplies world-class food products to food service and retail markets. Part of the JSE listed Libstar group of companies, they supply all McDonald’s South Africa’s meat and poultry products and deliver value-add products to Woolworths, County Fair & Spur.
On a daily basis, Finlar receives large volumes of raw product that has to be checked before offloading and received into their warehouse all the while complying with the strictest of food safety and tracking standards. Translution™ Software eases this burden and automates the process for smooth receiving. Depending on the Purchase order, Translution™ Software assembles the checks that need completing either by Finlar’s Logistics Department or Quality Control Department or both.
If all checks are passed and the pallets are unloaded, Translution™ Software will prompt the user to enter pallet specific information in order to calculate the actual product weigh, net of packaging, when reading the pallet scale. A subsequent scannable label is produced by Translution™ Software for traceability and identification per pallet.
A second set of food safety and quality checks are performed and fed to Translution™ Software on a pallet level before the pallet is released for unboxing and production in the warehouse.
Translution™ Software allow users to combine pallets for a production run while maintaining lot integrity via new combination labels in order to sustain supply chain tracking from the raw product supplier to production.
Phase two will be implemented shortly and will entail automatic business object postings to their newly implemented ERP system, SYSPRO.
