EverTrade chooses TransLution™ to provide scanner-based checking
EverTrade is a company that imports and distributes a wide range of commodities in South Africa with a specific focus on high value electronic items.
EverTrade chose TransLution™ to provide them with a scanner based checking solution. Every phone that is shipped out on a sales order is scanned. In addition to scanning the phone serial number, the operator also scans the IMEI number. At the end of the packing and checking process TransLution updates Syspro with the number of phones scanned and creates a dispatch note in Syspro. There is a packing list printer per order and customer branch to show each serial number and IMEI number shipped to a specific customer branch.
An IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number is a 15 or 17 digit unique number used internationally to identify mobile devices. It is usually found printed on the phones back under the battery.
TransLution™ checks the scanned quantity against the order quantity on Syspro in order to prevent a greater quantity being shipped.
As an additional check, users are allowed to remove IMEI (cell phone) numbers from a given Sales order if it was incorrectly scanned.
The key benefit that EverTrade gains from this process is that they are not only able to capture how many cell phones are shipped to a customer branch but exactly which ones were shipped. Customers use this information to manage sales and of course the information is required for tracking stolen products. Without scanning, this data could not be captured manually: there is simply not enough time when shipping 100 phones to a store to record each set of numbers manually.
